Honouring our desire for rest and nourishment on these dark winter days is a powerful practice. The time around the Winter Solstice (Dec 21st) is the shortest day of the year, a period when stillness abounds. Astronomically, the sun is still and the earth too. Hermes Trismegistus beautifully quoted ‘As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without, As the Universe, So the Soul” The universe and the planets are at their most still point now, and yet, here we are, rushing around like mad people ahead of an overly commercialised Christmas!
